It was an opportunity to do something new and challenging. And Tulip Joshi lapped it up without hesitation.
Slowly but surely Tulip’s acting career is blossoming. After having been out of film industry for a long time due to a chronic illness, Tulip has made a fairly notable comeback to Bollywood with films like Dhoka and Superstar , not to mention two other flicks that are in the making.
But in all the films Tulip has acted so far, she has either been seen playing a simple and sweet girl-next-door, or a victimized woman.
Just when Tulip was raring to do something different, something glamorous, came the offer of her choice – to play a bar dancer in a film to be directed by a newcomer named Suneel.
Tulip says what excited her most about this film was that her character was required to dance, something Tulip hasn’t done much in films yet. So when the role was offered to her she “couldn’t resist” giving her nod.
The movie is tentatively titled ‘Highway’ and will star a new male actor opposite Tulip.
