“It takes courage to make right…right,” says the punchline of ‘Shaurya’. The film is a story of justice, honour, faith, and, above all, believing in yourself.

Directed by Samar Khan, Shourya stars Rahul Bose, Javed Jaffrey, Minissha Lamba, Deepak Dobriyal and Kay Kay Menon (in special appearance).

Character Sketches

Rahul Bose as Siddhant Chaudhary

27-year-old Siddhant is a rebellious, adventurous, immature, intelligent and reckless young army lawyer. Sid got into Army by chance and not by desire and that's why he wants to leave it. He wants to accomplish his desire to become a Bungee Jumping Instructor in New- Zealand. The only person who Sid thinks is a support to him is his best friend Aakash.

Javed Jaffrey as Maj. Aakash Kapoor

Aakash is a young, sharp and focused army lawyer. Unlike Sid, he didn't join army just by chance but he is in army with a purpose, a purpose to be a successful man. He wants to reach the top and he will play by the rules... using them to his advantage. Nandini is Aakash's fiancé and he doesn't mind using his would-be father-in-law's influences to fix things for him professionally.

Minissha Lamba as Kaavya Shastri

22-year-old Kaavya is a very bright, young, upcoming, focused and beautiful journalist. She is a go-getter and wants to achieve great goals in the field of journalism. She doesn't mind getting into trouble to get her facts right and know the truth. She is lovely, spunky and a fun-loving girl. She is Sid’s best friend. But slowly love blossoms between the two.

Deepak Dobriyal as Captain Javed Khan

Captain Javed Khan is a young, honest, brave army officer who can give his life for the country. His father was a subedar and it was the proudest moment for him to see his son becoming an officer. Javed's mother is a proud woman too. She would rather sacrifice her son for the sake of the honour of the country. Javed's belief in the army too was stupendous, until an incident happened.

Kay Kay Menon as Brigadier Rudra Pratap Singh

47-year-old Brigadier Rudra Pratap Singh has been one of the strongest officers of the Indian Army. He is a man of integrity and strong beliefs. He is patriotic, authoritative, arrogant, and an honorable man who has no fear in life. He knows that he is at a position of power and he uses this to his advantage.

Synopsis

‘Shaurya’ is the story of Javed – a man wronged by his country, by the very men who he fought with and who he thought were his friends. It's the story of Siddhant, whose only aim in life was to escape reality and who wasn't ready for what life brought him. It's the story of Kaavya who never understood why it was difficult to speak the truth.

It's the story of Aakash for whom living the rules was the only way to live. And it's the story of Brigadier Pratap, a man who lived by his own rules even if they were against humanity.

Captain Javed Khan is charged with mutiny, treason and killing a fellow officer. Even when he is held for court martial, he refuses to speak in his defence, as the secret he holds is too powerful for the establishment to handle.

Assigned for this task are Sid and Aakash, two best friends, lawyers and very ambitious individuals who have contrasting views on life.

Nevertheless, this one case will change their lives. The case takes them to Srinagar. While Aakash, for whom winning the case matters the most, follows the blueprint, Sid discovers a new meaning in life.

‘Shaurya’ is a story of finding courage within. It is about the battle for truth and justice, a battle in which friendships are tested.

The film has music by Adnan Sami and lyrics by Javed Akhtar . It is produced by Moserbaer India Ltd.
