While Aamir had been finalized some time back, Madhavan and Sharman are the latest addition to the film’s cast. The three stars previously worked together in the superhit film Rang De Basanti .
‘Idiots’ will also have Aamir and Kareena Kapoor working together for the first time. Earlier, filmmakers like Vishal Bharadwaj and Mani Ratnam had planned to pair the two stars in the projects that eventually never took off.
Hirani, too, had initially approached Kajol for the role opposite Aamir, but she turned it down. It was then Kareena was finalized for the part. Bebo says she is super-excited about working with Hirani and Aamir.
‘Idiots’ is said to be based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel ‘Five Point Someone’. The film will also have Boman Irani in a significant role.
The movie, to be produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra , will go on the floors in the second half of 2008.
