All set for the release of 'Sarkar Raj'

Ram Gopal Varma 's Sarkar Raj , which brings together Amitabh Bachchan , Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in a movie for the first time, will hit theatres across the country today.

'Sarkar Raj', a sequel to the hit Sarkar , marks Bachchan's first venture with Varma after their box office disaster Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag .

The movie, seen by many as being inspired by the life of Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray, also features Abhishek and Ash together for the first time post marriage.

"It's been an extraordinary experience working with Ram Gopal Varma yet again. I have the privilege of working with the family as well," the senior Bachchan said in New Delhi ahead of the release of the movie.

He made it a point to emphasise that the personal bonding between the family members never overshadowed the characters of the film.

"When we play a character in front of camera, we play our roles with efficiency which is desired of us by the director," claimed Bachchan who along with his son Abhishek acted in the film's previous version ‘Sarkar’ that won critical acclaim.

Similar to Varma's previous films, ‘Sarkar Raj’ deals with the use of muscle and gun power in politics.

Asked about the meaning of power in his real life, the 65-year-old Bollywood mega superstar said it has a different meaning in different perspective.

To ascertain what 'power' means to people, the three Bachchans, along with Varma, have set out to what they call a 'Yatra', which would go to different states of the country.

The Yatra started from the PVR of Gurgaon's Preimer Mall on June 2 and would continue through Lucknow, Indore and Hyderabad till June 15.

The premiere of the film is scheduled in Bangkok today at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) meet.

When the media asked whether he played the role of 'Sarkar' in the movie, Abhishek replied, ''There has always been one 'Sarkar' in the film industry and only one will remain, that is my father.''

'Sarkar Raj' starts from where the earlier 'Sarkar' ended. In the movie, Abhishek takes over his father Amitabh, who was a don. Ash has a unique role in the movie that of a corporate person, who brings in Power Projects to the Company.
