It’s also about giving back to this world. John, who has secured a place in Bollywood and has ample work in his kitty, now wants to do something to make this world a better place. Just last year we saw him lugging bricks with his gloved hands, building houses for the poor in collaboration with the Jimmy Carter Foundation on the outskirts of Mumbai. 
This year, too, the actor will get his hands muddied in the same project, but with a bigger goal. Alongside this, John is producing a short film on tigers, to be made by wildlife photographer and filmmaker Mike Pandey. The film, ‘The Return of the Tiger’ will be shot in Ranthambore. John, who’s been appointed the brand ambassador of Euro 2008, also has plans to give a fresh lease of life to Indian football. Tentative plans are already underway to set up a football academy in India. A heartthrob of girls, John says it is not enough for someone to be a model or a star; one must be a role model. And as far as Bollywood is concerned, John will be seen in a couple of art-house and mainstream films. Nagesh Kukunoor’s Aashayein is one film that took a great toll on John when he was shooting it. While working in Karan Johar’s production Dostana with Abhishek Bachchan was like a reunion of friends who were previously pitted against each other in Dhoom .
