He might be just one film old but Ranbir Kapoor surely is commanding big bucks.
Giving competition to Bollywood’s big stars, the Saawariya star has signed up a whooping Rs 7 crore deal with TIPS films.
After bagging numerous awards in the best debutant category for `Saawariya` last year, the blue eyed boy now appears to be all set to be crowned as one of the top paid actors in Bollywood – in league of Shahrukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan , at least as far as the fee is concerned.
Sources say that the Ranbir signed the multi crore deal for director Raj Kumar Santoshi ’s upcoming venture Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani .
The film is touted to be a love story and will see Ranbir romancing the ‘sexiest women in the world’ Katrina Kaif in some of the most dreamlike locations like Italy and Goa.
Speaking to a news daily Santoshi said, “‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ with Ranbir and Katrina is my first love story, though people seem to think it’s an intense love story - it is not. It has lots of very light very humorous moments. I haven’t worked with Ranbir and Katrina before. So I’m really looking forward to that."
The director who seems to be all praises for Ranbir further added, "A lot of elements in Ranbir’s character will remind people of his grandfather Raj Kapoor . I’ve worked with Ranbir’s father in ‘Damini’. When I saw the boy in ‘Saawariya’ I wanted to work with him immediately."
As for the Rs 7 crore is concerned Santoshi shrugged off the questions stating that the deal is between Ranbir and the producers.
