HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD Guru ke baad Ramayan!21st Aug 2008 20.00 IST By ApunKaChoice The Abhi-Ash jodi is all set to play the mythological characters of Ram and Sita in Mani Ratnam’s version of Ramayan. Surprisingly, Mani Ratnam’s adaptation of Ramayan will be named ‘Ravan’, after the King of Lanka. Tamil superstar Vikram will play the role of Ravan. This Ramayan will also see Govinda as Pawanputra Hanuman. The movie will go on the floors this September. It will be made under Ratnam’s home production Madras Talkies and will be produced by his sister Sharda. 
This will be the second film after Guru where Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai will play the roles of husband and wife. Sources say Mani Ratnam was very keen to shoot the duo again as Ram and Sita. Indian mythology seems to have caught the fancy of filmmakers in Bollywood. Prakash Jha is adapting Mahabharata into modern setting in his political thriller Rajniti which stars Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif in lead roles. So we can keep ourselves ready for a toast of mythological era on the big screen.
