Saawariya flopped but gave a decent launch to Ranbir into B-Town. The actor impressed the critics with his performance and his charming screen presence despite the fact that success had eluded him in his debut movie. But now that the actor has tasted success with the good run of Bachna Ae Haseeno , everything seems to be going the way Ranbir wanted. 
He’s looking forward to films that promise to catapult him to Bollywood’s big league. The lad’s doing films with the likes of Rajkumar Santoshi ( Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani ), Karan Johar ( Wake Up Sid ) and Prakash Jha ( Rajniti ). And Ranbir is being sought by none other than Mani Ratnam and Shimit Amin , whose last films Guru and Chak De India , were not just hits but dealt with inspiring themes. Ratnam reportedly wants Ranbir for a film he plans to make after his next movie with Abhishek Bachchan , Aishwarya Rai and Govinda . While Shimit Amin wants to cast him opposite his ‘Saawariya’ co-star Sonam Kapoor . Also add to the list a film with Vicky Kapoor (Farhan Akhtar’s former assistant) that Sonam is reported to have turned down. With so much work at hand, Ranbir says he is thrilled about working with so many talented directors. “Life just couldn’t have gotten better,” Ranbir is quoted as saying. And when he says this, he not just talks about films but also his personal life (read Deepika Padukone ). By the way, papa Rishi Kapoor is so happy with the way Ranbir’s carrier is shaping up that he’s gifted the young lad a Range Rover.
