Amitabh Bachchan in a biographical role

The movie, titled The Actor will be made by Kushan Nandy, son of Pritish Nandy. Kushan, who has also written the script along with two writer-friends Kiran Shyam Shroff and Ghalib Asad, has reportedly incorporated many incidents from the Big B’s life in the story.

The movie will have Amitabh playing an actor named Ashmit Bhargava, a cine icon who's about 55-60 years old. In the film’s plot Ashmit Bhargava gets to play the biggest role of his life.


Interestingly, Ashmit Bhargava has the same initials as Amitabh Bachchan.

The movie also marks the coming together of Big B and Pritish Nandy after a prolonged rift between the two since Kaante in 2002. But the two have let bygones be bygones and decided to work together. Pritish particularly wanted Big B for this film.

“When my son came up with The Actor, I knew this was it. I immediately approached Amitabh. We met several times and he agreed,” Pritish Nandy is quoted as saying.

‘The Actor’ will also star a few more big names. The movie’s shoot will begin in a few months.
