Katrina Kaif nominated for Best Indian award

It may appear a bit odd for a girl who was raised in London to get nominated by a TV channel for the Best Indian award, but that’s what seems to have happened. Katrina is the only second woman to be nominated for the title this year apart from Indian President Pratibha Patil.

Katrina is also the second actress from the film industry to be ever considered for the title. The only other actress who got nominated in the past is Aishwarya Rai .


"It is just such a great honour to be even considered to be in the same league as these great achievers,” Katrina is quoted as saying.

The others in the present nomination list include Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, and Aamir Khan , who has been undoubtedly the most influential star of 2008 following the release of Taare Zameen Par (in December 2007), home production Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na and the monster hit Ghajini .

How does Katrina fancy her chance of being the winner?

“I know chance of me winning this is very bleak but I am just humbled to be even thought about," Katrina is quoted.

In the last few months, Katrina has won the titles of Asia’s Sexiest Woman (by Eastern Eye) and the most searched celeb on Google.
