Rajeev Khandelwal is the man in 'Chenab Gandhi'!

According to sources, many actors were screen-tested for this particular role that ultimately went to Rajeev. Earlier, the production house had signed Hurman Baweja but because of his unsuccessful stint at the box office with two flops in a row, the makers of the film thought of dropping him.

Rajeev, who started his acting career with TV serials, stunned everyone when he received rave reviews for his performance of a frightened doctor, who chose to die and save fellow humans instead of his kidnapped family, in his debut film ‘Aamir’.


The movie ‘Chenab Gandhi’ required a young actor with good acting skills and thus Rajeev was perfect for it. Reports convey that John Abraham too was on the wish list of the makers, though the actor has declined the news. But he is not doing the film not because of Vidya Balan , but because he apparently failed to impress the director.

Amitabh Bachchan and Vidya are already on-board and finally with the selection of the second lead, the process of filming ‘Chenab Gandhi might’ speed up now. The movie is expected to roll by August and will be directed by Vibhu Puri, assistant to Sanjay Leela Bhansali .
