Shahrukh to produce a film on bestselling novel

It’s been just days since Billu Barber hit the theatres and plans are already afoot for production of another film under the Red Chillies banner. The movie would be based on Anuja Chauhan’s novel ‘The Zoya Factor’.

It tells a story of a girl named Zoya who was born exactly at the moment when India won the world cup in 1983. Strangely, Zoya proves to be a girl of incredible luck for cricket matches. Whenever she watches a match, India ends up winning.


SRK has reportedly bought the rights of the novel and has roped in Shirish Kunder to direct the film. The superstar had his differences with Kunder when he refused to act in the latter’s movie ‘Joker’. However, since Kunder’s wife Farah Khan is extremely close to SRK, the actor and director eventually ironed out their differences.

Reports say SRK himself will act in the film. The main cast, however, is yet to be finalized.

The film’s screenplay is currently being adapted from the novel.
