Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi is on a song ever since his latest film Indra turned out to be the biggest blockbuster Tollywood has seen.
Grapevine has it that the film is set to rake in an astounding Rs 35 crore, which is a new record. Indra is also expected to complete 100 days at 110 theaters in Andhra - again a feat no other Telugu movie has been able to achieve.
'Chiru', who has regained the number one slot, rode his luck as there was no other movie to give his Indra a run for its money.
The Telugu version of Rajnikanth's much-hyped Baba bit the Box office dust. No major films by other Telugu heroes are in sight either. So Indra is enjoying unchallenged sway in the film-crazy state.
The fabulous run of Indra has also fuelled rumors that the Czar of Tollywood is about to enter politics. The Opposition Congress is learnt to be trying to rope in Chiranjeevi in its effort to regain power in the State.
The actor himself is said to be not averse to dabbling in the rough and tumble of politics. He reportedly told his countless fans that he would join politics if it were destined to happen!
