Interestingly, it is the heroines who are making the most of the phenomenon. The flavor of the month is top Kannada-Telugu actress Laya , who has been signed up to play the heroine to Mega Star Mammootty in a Malayalam film titled Thommante Makkal. 
Earlier, Telugu actress Padmapriya made a successful foray into Malayalam moviedom. Padmapriya, who played the leading lady in Blessy's Kazhcha has become a celebrity overnight in Malayalam silver screen. Likewise, another Tamil-Telugu actress, Shreya Reddy has shot into fame with "Black", a film on Kochi underworld. Then, there is Vesham in which Mammootty co-stars Tamil beauty Mohini. It's a comeback of sorts for Mohini who has given a number of hits in the company of Mohanlal , Dileep and Jayaram . Taking a cue as it were, leading ladies of Malayalam have hopped over to the neighboring Tamil Nadu. Among the heroines who are shining in Tamil and Telugu cinema are Kavya Madhavan , Navya Nair and Meera Jasmine .
