Sreekumaran Noted Malayalam actress Meera Jasmine is now trying her hand at direction. Meera has already earned fame and name with a slew of stupendous performances both in Malayalam cinema and Tamil. 
She has also won a national award for best actress for her sensitive show in TV Chandran’s ‘Padam Onnu Oru Vilapam’. Rumours have it that Ms Jasmine is going through a lean patch in her acting career. Hence her decision to turn to direction. Whatever the reason, Meera, says the grapevine, will wield the megaphone, not to direct a Malayalam movie but a Tamil film. Let us hope her directorial skill matches her prowess as an actress as well. Meanwhile, her latest Tamil flick Mercury Pookkal is not doing too well at the box office. She has also opted out of – dropped, according to the buzz – a film featuring young hero Prithviraj. Mollywood is abuzz with talk that it was the result of a tiff between the two.
