Two hits in a row seem to have jazzed up Malayalam actress Jyothirmayi 's reel life in Tamil cinema.
Jyothi's career in Kollywood got off to a flying start when her maiden movie in Tamil, ‘Thalainagaram’, turned out to be a big hit.
The film's success spotlighted Jyothirmayi, who shot to limelight with her performance in Malayalam blockbuster, ‘Meesha Madhavan’.
Then came 'Naan Avanillai", her second Tamil flick, in which she played a Malayali girl who is cheated by the hero. The film too was a big success.
It has made her busy in Tamil cinema. Her latest film in the making is Periyar , a movie on Tamil political icon, late EV Ramaswamy Periyar. In the film, she plays Periyar's first wife, Nagamma.
It is not as if she has turned her back on home turf: Malayalam films. She has just completed ‘Aakasham’, an offbeat film in which Harishri Ashokan is the hero.
The grapevine buzzes that Jyothi may also make a foray into Telugu cinema in the not too distant future.
