Rajnikant magnum opus to take film world by storm today

So, the D-Day is at last here! And the mother of all movies, the Rajnikant starrer, Sivaji is storming the theatres today!

The highest paid actor in India, Rajni has notched up a few more firsts with his magnum opus, according to the Kollywood buzz.

To ‘Sivaji’ goes the distinction of being the first Indian film to use the latest 4K-resolution technology, which is used by big-budget Hollywood movies only.

Besides, for the first time, a Tamil film will be released in Hong Kong, according to the grapevine emanating from Kollywood.

The buzz is that as many as 160 Tamil prints of the mega movie will be released overseas besides 15 prints in Telugu. As many as 29 countries will screen the movie, including Japan and the United States of America.

In neighbouring Kerala, 'Sivaji' will be released in 72 centres - a record even Malayalam mega stars Mammootty and Mohanlal cannot claim! The record so far had been held by Mohanlal who had his ‘Chhota Mumbai’ released in 60 centres.

The latest on Rajni is that he saw the Telugu version of ‘Sivaji’ in the company of Telugu Desam party supremo Chandrababu Naidu, a close friend, and other VVIPs. Naidu is all praise for the film, which according to him, has a potent message. As for performance, Naidu says Rajni is 'style' at its best!

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi and his family members also watched ‘Sivaji’ at a special screening in Chennai, according to reports. He is said to be impressed with the movie.

AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa was among the scores of movie buffs who watched AVM Production's mega budget movie on the first day of the release.

A special screening of the movie was arranged at the AVM studio in Chennai for Jayalalithaa, who watched the film along with Rajnikant, producer A V M Saravanan and director Shankar .

Rajnikant fans all over Tamil Nadu have started celebrating the movie's release by breaking coconuts in front of the actor's cutouts in front of cinema houses, which would be screening the movie. In some places, they poured milk over the cutouts.

Tickets for 20 days had been sold out in advance, cinema house owners said.

So, on your mark, get set and watch ‘Sivaji’!!!
