Sreekumaran Malayalam megastar Mohanlal is a much sought after man not only in Mollywood but also in neighboring Tamil cinema. How? You might ask. The answer is: Tamil producers and directors are keen on remaking his hit Malayalam films. 
Two of his recent movies which were remade in Tamil are Kireedam and ‘Sphadikam’. The Tamil versions, titled ‘Kireedam’ and ‘Veerappu’, respectively, were smashing hits. Even the mighty Rajnikant has reaped rich rewards by remaking Mohanlal films. For instance, Rajni’s superhit flick ‘Muthu’ is a remake of Mohanlal’s ‘Tenmaavin Kombathu’. Likewise, Chandramukhi is based on the Mohanlal film, ‘Manichitrathazhu’. The remake success seems to have whetted the appetite of Tamil producers. For, three more Mohanlal flicks are set to be remade in Tamil. The movies are: Udayananu Tharam , ‘Hello’ and Ali Bhai .
