She made an unimpressive debut in Malayalam movie, ‘Narendran Magan Jayakanthante Vaga’ as Kunjacko Boban's heroine.
The film flopped at the box office. And Kerala-born Asin had no option but to hop over to neighbouring Tollywood to try her luck there.
Well, dame luck did smile on her, as Asin became one of the top heroines in Telugu with a slew of hits.
Then, she set her sights on Tamil cinema. The debut was more impressive. The first Tamil film of hers, ‘M Kumaran Son Of Mahalakshmi’ was a hit. She has not looked back since.
A host of hit films followed. Among them are Ghajini , ‘Sivakasi’, ‘Godfather’, ‘Aalwar’ and Pokkiri .
No wonder, as she celebrated her 22nd birthday on 26 October, Asin is literally queening it up in Tamil cinema.
Her next Tamil film which is awaiting release is in the company of superstar Kamal Haasan , Dasavatharam .
The soft-spoken heroine is also making her debut in Bollywood with a film with Aamir Khan , the Hindi remake of her Tamil superhit, Ghajini.
No wonder, Asin is over the moon as she celebrated her birthday this year.
