Megastar Chiranjeevi has been striding the Telugu cinema like a colossus for the last 27 years.
But the Telugu megastar has not confined himself to acting in films. The philanthropist that he is, Chiru has been running blood banks and eye banks with the help of fans.
Now, in recognition of his service to humanity, the Andhra Pradesh Government has awarded the Chiranjeevi Blood Bank, run by the Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust, the best voluntary blood bank award for the fourth consecutive year.
Chiru's brother-in-law and noted producer, Allu Aravind, who is also associated with the blood bank, received the award.
Meanwhile, speculation is rife that another film of Chiranjeevi will soon be in the making. The talk is that he may act in the Telugu remake of Lage Raho Munnabhai .
