Indian fashion gurus say that a craze for bleached hair and short skirts will be the new fashion fad among youngsters in the coming summers.
Expect the hemlines to rise with the mercury this year. If the opinions of some fashion designers are to go by, the new vogue statement among the youth is going to be itsy-bitsy, teeny-weeny skirts.
According to designer Aki Narula , the coming summers will see the revival of the trend of 1950’s with the return of short skirts. In fact, Narula recently showcased his spring-summer collection, which incorporated the style of tennis couture focusing on white skirts with “nice pleating and paneling”.
Another designer Puja Nayyar agrees with Narula. According to her, the craze for short skirts will last at least till fall-winter 2004.
Puja will showcase her collection of skirts in the coming Indian Fashion Week.
Bollywood designer Rocky S believes that apart from nicely designed skirts, good body figure and hairstyles would also matter a lot. He says there is going to be a craze for blonde hair.
“And you have to be tall and have good legs to don those tiny skirts,” says Rocky.
