SCOOP!! & NEWS Miss India contestants on catwalk09th Mar 2005 21.30 IST By Agencies More than twenty beauties, selected for the final round of ‘Ponds-Femina Miss India 2005’ contest, sashayed the ramp on Monday in Mumbai. The contestants include Priyanka Jha (an electronics and tele-communications student) and Priya Nayak (a postgraduate in Bio-technology) among others. Bengali beauty Indrani Dasgupta could not participate in the event due to ill health. 
Renowned painter and filmmaker M F Hussain was among the invited guests. Mumbai has the largest representation with eight girls, 7 are from Delhi, 4 from Bangalore, 2 from Pune and one each from Bhopal and Chennai. All the participants are aged between 18 and 26 years. According to the rules of the contest all are unmarried. A unique addition to this year's contest is the use of mobile to generate more buzz and get the common man involved with the opinion of the public in form of 'SMS' through cells being considered before taking a final decision. The four-decade-old contest attracted over 10,000 entries and 24 were short listed for the final round which is scheduled for March 26.
