A galaxy of stars from Bollywood scorched the ramp at fashion shows in 2008. Some of them did even better than regular models.Modeling is often viewed as a stepping stone to the tinsel town. Now, when models can graduate from catwalks to cinema, why can't the movie stars step on the ramp and strut their stuff? That's what happened more than often in 2008 when cine celebs dolled up in gorgeous attires to sashay the catwalk for fashion designers who happen to be their friends. This year, actresses like Karisma Kapoor and Raveena Tandon sizzled on the ramp, though both the ladies are busy managing home and raising kids. Karisma looked stunning in a red creation by designer Manav Gangwani at HDIL couture week in Mumbai and Raveena sported a white outfit at Chivas Fashion Tour 2008. 
Wills Lifestyle Fashion Week 2008 saw celebs like Zayed Khan , Celina Jaitley , Katrina Kaif , Bipasha Basu , Kunal Kapoor , Sophie Choudhary on the catwalk. Some of the young gals like Minissha Lamba and Soha Ali Khan also set the ramp ablaze with style and panache. And director Karan Johar walked the ramp for a Rohit Bal creation. Lakme India Fashion Week 2008 witnessed some new faces. Rock On girl Prachi Desai walked for Shane and Falguni Peacock; debutante of 1920 , Adah Sharma looked pretty in a silver creation by designer Nalandda Bhandari. Whereas Ranbir Kapoor walked in an embroidered long coat designed by Arjun Khanna. At the year's fag end we saw Katrina walk the ramp again - this time for a jewelry brand - at Taj Lands End in Mumbai. That's an ample number of stars to walk the ramp in a year when the film industry came out with its first film on the fashion world - Fashion . |
