No high heels for Bipasha Basu

You will hardly see Bipasha in high heels except on red carpets and a few selective events. The actress prefers flat footwear because high heels cause pain to her knees and ankles.

Recently, Bips learnt the Tango dance for an ad and she rehearsed it in high heels. Even though choreographer Sandip Soparrkar gave her some of the elegant, but not tough, dance moves, the actress developed pain in her ankles and had to manage by taking pain killers.


Bipasha admits that her knee problem as been chronic since her modeling days when she unknowingly began running and jogging in wrong footwear. It took a toll on her knees and today she’s at a stage where she can’t learn any dance form that involves greater use of knees and ankles.

“…I can never learn any form of international dance because of the high heels, intricate leg movement, lifts and jumps,” Bipasha admits to a Mumbai tabloid.

The actress has been shooting for Ajay Devgan’s home production All The Best in which she’s now likely to play a double role.
