It was a star-studded night for the year's first award ceremony. 15th Star Screen Awards was a gala event with many Bollywood celebs walking the red carpet. And this year, red and black ruled, as many actresses chose these hues to look ravishing.While Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan both walked away with best actor, actress (popular category) award, both were seen in shades of green. Hrithik sported a green shirt, whereas Aishwarya look splendid in ocean-green salwar-suit, very much a Bachchan bahu. Red was the colour for queen-bee Katrina Kaif , who looked every bit glamorous in that crimson-red coloured gown. Raima Sen looked gorgeous as ever, dressed in red-coloured off-shoulder short dress. 
Then there were many women in black, like Gul Panag Tanushree Dutta Adhuna Akhtar, Koel Purie and young star Prachi Desai . One unlikely celeb who looked dazzling was Koena Mitra in a black checkered corset teamed with flaired-flowy long black satin skirt. Among the stars who made a distinct fashion statement was the Ghajini actress Asin who managed to look classy in peach coloured simple gown. Newbie Adah Sharma looked fetching in milky white off-shoulder gown that accentuated her angelic look, and 'Chak-De' girl Vidya Malvade looked pretty in off-white gown. Kangana Ranaut , who is always at the receiving end of flak for her zany dressing sense must have stumped her critics, for she looked immaculate in white sari with a pearl-studded waist-accessory (kamarband) complementing her Indian look well. Then, there were those who looked odd. Suzanne Roshan looked like she was out to have a walk on a beach in multi-colored halter dress. Minissha Lamba tried to look chic and different but her attire in three to four colours was not at all stylish. Deepika Padukone was over-done. She tried to look ethnic but her costume lacked elegance. Twinkle Khanna 's dress in multi shade was awful but her make-up and her tresses made her look young and sensuous. As for males, most of them looked dashing in their suits. Rajiv Khandelwal , John Abraham and Farhan Akhtar were definitely head-turners. |
