Hollywood star Tom Cruise says he proposed girlfriend Katie Holmes early Friday morning at the Eiffel Tower.
Speaking to media persons at a news conference in Paris, Cruise said he and Katie are engaged.
“Yes, I proposed to her,” Cruise said.
Holmes, who was also present at the conference, had a sparkling diamond ring on her finger. Often, Tom and Katie turned to each other and shared smiles.
“It was early this morning at the Eiffel Tower…Today is a magnificent day for me, I'm engaged to a magnificent woman,” Cruise said.
Cruise is in Paris to promote the French release of the Steven Spielberg film ‘War of the World’.
When asked why he chose the Eiffel Tower to propose Holmes, Cruise said: “I've never been to the Eiffel Tower. It's Paris, it's a beautiful city, it's very romantic.”
42-year-old Cruise and 26-year-old Holmes have been in media attention ever since the couple went public with their romantic relationship in April.
