HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | HOLLYWOOD Ashley Judd coming to India03rd Mar 2007 19.45 IST By Agencies Hollywood actress Ashley Judd, who has acted in films like ‘Double Jeopardy’ and ‘Kiss the Girls’, will be in India for three weeks from March 10. Judd will be in India soon to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS and will interact with sex workers and their children during her stay. She is coming on the invitation of Population Services International (PSI), a global initiative that generates funding for grassroots programmes in 65 countries. The actress, who is a board member of PSI, will visit Mumbai, Delhi and Jaipur.
"This is her first visit to India. She will visit red light districts where she will interact with sex workers and their children to spread the message of AIDS awareness and prevention," a PSI official said. The National Geography channel would shoot her campaign in Mumbai. Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen is expected to accompany Judd on her visit to Mumbai’s red light districts. In Delhi, Judd will be meeting corporate honchos and industrialists. "She will be meeting corporate bosses to further the cause of HIV," the official said. On her visit to Jaipur, Judd would also take up issues like family planning, women empowerment and promote women's health. She has earlier traveled to Central America, Southeast Asia and Africa as part of her efforts to raise awareness about AIDS. The actress will be also visiting the Taj Mahal.
