Kiera Chaplin, Charlie Chaplin's granddaughter, is acting in an Indian movie.
Kiera is the daughter of Eugene Chaplin, who was the fifth child of Charlie Chaplin, the unparalleled legend and acting genius. Kiera has acted in a number of English films (‘The Importance of Being Ernest’ being one of them) and now she is making her debut in Hindi cinema with Rajshree Ojha's film ‘Chaurahen – Cross Roads’.
According to Rajshree, it was Kiera who got to know about her film and showed interest in being a part of it. Kiera was apparently also interested in coming to India.
Kiera shot the movie in Kolkata. Her co-stars in the film are Bengali actors Rupa Ganguly and Victor Banerji .
The movie’s director Rajshree Ojha recalls that while shooting in Kolkata’s New Market, Kiera came across the Chaplin theatre and was very thrilled to see it.
“She (Kiera) loved India and wanted to come back here again,” Ojha is quoted as saying.
Even while shooting the film, Kiera did not have any airs of being a Hollywood star. She was very friendly with her co-stars and the film’s unit.
