HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | HOLLYWOOD Michael Douglas savours Indian food and culture29th June 2008 10.45 IST By ApunKaChoice Apart from hunting shooting locations in India for his film ‘Racing the Monsoon’, Hollywood star Michael Douglas is enjoying the Indian food, places, people and culture. Douglas, who arrived in Mumbai early this week and traveled to Rajasthan to finalize shooting locations for a film co-starring wife Catherine Zeta Jones, is amazed by the multiple colours and cultures of India. 
In an interview to a news daily, Douglas says he has fallen in love with India, particularly its food. “I must confess that I love the food here. The mix of spices is just brilliant,” Michael is quoted by Times Of India. The actor is observing the people and places very thoroughly because it would all be incorporated in Racing the Monsoon which will be co-produced by Douglas’ company Further Films and Indian production house Percept Picture Company. Douglas has already traveled to Jaipur and Jodhpur in Rajasthan. On the outskirts of Jodhpur, the actor reportedly visited the Balsamand lake and also a small village about 100 kms from Jodhpur. The village has remains of ancient temples from the 8th century to 11th century. Reports say Douglas also visited the railway stations in Jodhpur and Raikabagh. ‘Racing the Monsoon’ is the story of a diamond heist aboard a train. Besides places, Douglas also learnt about local Rajasthani culture. During his stay at Umaid Bhavan, the actor watched traditional Rajasthani dances such as Kalbeliya and Terah Taali. Douglas also showed a great deal of curiosity about the colourful turbans of local Rajasthanis. In the coming days, Douglas will travel north and explore more of India.
