John Travolta 'heartbroken' by death of teenage son

16-year-old Jett had medical complications ever since he was a toddler. He had a history of seizures and was on anti-seizure medicine for many years.

On Friday last week, Jett was found unconscious in the bathroom of his family home in the Bahamas and was rushed to Freeport Hospital where he was declared dead. Jett had apparently hit his head on the bathtub during one of his seizures.


The death of the teenage son has devastated John Travolta and his wife. John has posted a message on his website that says: “Jett was the most wonderful son that two parents could ask for and lit up the lives of everyone he encountered. We are heartbroken that our time with him was so brief. We will cherish the time we had with him for the rest of our lives.”

John also thanked all the friends and fans who have been sending him messages of condolences.

“We have received many messages of condolence from around the world and we want to thank everyone for their prayers and support,” John wrote.

Meanwhile, reports from Hollywood say that Jett’s body will be flown back to Florida for a funeral on Tuesday. By then an autopsy to establish the exact cause of death would have been complete.
