I seduce people to get my work done: Payal

Before you all start jumping to conclusions, let us tell you that here Payal Rohatgi is not talking about her real life, but of a character she plays in a forthcoming film.

And that film is ‘Laila’, in which Payal plays a con woman. This seems to be the season of impersonators with Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee playing so in Bunty Aur Babli and Rekha and Mallika Sherawat playing con women in Bachke Rehna Re Baba .

Talking to an entertainment website, Payal says about her character in ‘Laila’, “I play a con woman who sports various get-ups in the movie. Sometimes I’m a village girl; sometimes I’m a wannabe actress trying to entice a producer to give me a role. It’s just like the Shakti Kapoor episode. There are also some intimate scenes. The movie just shows how a good-looking woman can get her way in society. Men just stop thinking when there’s a good-looking woman in front of them. So I’m seducing people to get my work done. See, if a woman has to seduce a guy she has to seduce a guy. But everything in the movie is underlined with humour.”

But to the disappointment of all, Payal informs that contrary to what the film’s press release had boasted of 32 kisses, there are only three or four kisses.

Payal says, “People do all kinds of things for publicity. You can’t control the way they think. Sometimes when a certain thing sells, they try to re-sell it. Yes, there are intimate scenes in the film but there aren’t 32 kisses. Maybe three or four.”

But the bombshell is unabashed when she admits she has no qualms about exposing or doing intimate scenes on the screen. “You can’t have inhibitions in this profession,” she reasons.

“You create your own world while acting. You have to laugh, you have to cry; similarly you have to do certain intimate scenes. I’m comfortable doing these scenes because I’m comfortable with the way I look, I’m comfortable with my body. I’m not at all apologetic about my glamorous image. I love it,” Payal adds.

With so much skin show, nobody would mind ‘only’ the three of four kisses in ‘Laila’.
