Abhishek and I share great chemistry: Sonam Kapoor

The daughter of Anil Kapoor has had a dream start in Bollywood. Her first film Saawariya with Sanjay Leela Bhansali may not have been money-minter, but Sonam has not an iota of regret about it. She considers herself lucky to have worked with good directors at the start of her career. After Bhansali, she has worked with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra , the man who made Rang De Basanti . In ‘Delhi 6’ Sonam plays a feisty girl from old Delhi.

The one-film-old actress particularly raves about her co-star Abhishek with whom she claims to share a terrific chemistry.


“We share a great chemistry. He (Abhishek) is young, but experienced enough and he guided me and helped me through scenes where I would get stuck,” Sonam is quoted as saying by a news agency.

Sonam goes on to add that with Abhishek and others around, she had a lot of fun while shooting the film.

“Every 10 days we used to have a dance party when we were shooting in Sambhar in Rajasthan. We used to have a DJ who used to play really bad Hindi songs from the 1980s and 90s and we used to dance all through the night,” Sonam said.

And when she shot in Delhi, Sonam did not miss the opportunity to gorge on spicy junk food.

“When we were shooting in Delhi for the film, I used to eat a lot of golgappas, chhole bhature, dahi bhalle and meat from Karim's. Basically, I used to eat all the wrong things, but I loved that,” Sonam told the news agency.

For her role in ‘Delhi 6’, Sonam says she had to work hard on many things.

“For 'Delhi-6', I had to work on my accent, body language, clothes, my expressions, the way I walked and a lot of other nitty-gritty stuff,” she said.

The movie, also starring Rishi Kapoor , Waheeda Rahman and Om Puri , is set for release on February 20.
