Amrita Rao praises Harman's performance in 'Victory'

The movie has Harman playing a struggling cricketer from a small town in Rajasthan. He and his father have a dream of him playing for the National team someday. How this underdog goes on to realize the dream is what the story is about.

In order to prepare for his role, Harman underwent a grueling training in cricket. He had to look convincing playing with many international cricket stars who make cameo appearances in the film. And Amrita seems impressed by what Harman has done.


“Not even once did it come across that he (Harman) was acting like a cricketer. He used to give such subtle expressions while shooting with the professional cricketers and facing bowls from legendary players,” Amrita is quoted by a news agency.

Set to release this Friday, the film has guest appearances by a host of cricketers including Brett Lee, Michael Hussey, Stuart Clark, Yusuf Pathan, Irfan Pathan, R.P. Singh, Ishant Sharma, Harbhajan Singh, Muttiah Muralitharan, Sanath Jayasurya and Dilhara Fernando.

Amrita says she is jealous of Harman for being able to share screen space with so many sportsmen.

But did she also shoot with these cricketers?

“Don't sprinkle salt on the wound…I didn't get a single chance to shoot with any cricketer. It has all been Harman's privilege and I am very jealous of him,” Amrita said.

About her own role in the film, Amrita said: “I play Nandini, a medical student from Jaisalmer. The character is very strong and inspiring. Nandini's character is basically very vocal about her mind.”

Directed by Ajitpal Mangat, ‘Victory’ is set for release on January 30. It is Harman’s second film after the flop Love Story 2050 .
