Exposing in wrong films was a mistake: Payal Rohatgi

Today, Payal may have undergone an image makeover, but there was a time when she did B-grade skin flicks without knowing how she would be depicted in them. Films like Tauba Tauba , ‘Laila - A Mystery’, Fun: Can Be Dangerous ‘Chetna - The Excitement’, Mazaa Mazaa , ‘Mr. 100% - The Real Player’, Men Not Allowed and ‘Ek Se Mera Kya Hoga’ consolidated Payal’s position as a sexbomb without really doing any wonders to her career.

“My biggest goof up was to expose in women oriented films. This turned out to be a huge drawback for me as I didn't know the nuances of filmmaking at that time. I didn't know how these projects would depict me and how would they be eventually marketed,” Payal is quoted as saying by a news agency.


Payal says what matters is how the skin exposure is depicted in films.

“Look at Yash Raj productions. In their films too you find skin show on a regular basis. However, what works in their favour is the fact that these scenes are aesthetically done and they know how to market their films and project their heroines,” Payal observed.

So will Payal now shun her old image of a bombshell and cover up in films?

“Come on, let's be realistic. At the end of the day every actor wants to be hot. Everyone dies to have a great body, be fit and look glamorous,” she said.

Payal added that even successful stars are doing bold photoshoots and scenes nowadays.

“Today many successful actors are seen on magazine covers and are participating in bold photo shoots. Even in movies, it's a no-holds-barred approach for so many of them,” said the sexy siren.

Payal’s career has turned around with films like Abbas-Mustan's 36 China Town , Madhur Bhandarkar's Corporate , Priyadarshan's Dhol and Irrfan Khan-starrer Dil Kabaddi .
