Heroines are never repeated in sequels: Bipasha Basu

When Bipasha's name wasn't announced in Raaz - The Mystery Continues , which is the sequel to her film Raaz , she didn't mind. And now when she's been omitted out of the sequel of Race and Kareena Kapoor has been roped in her place, Bipasha isn't surprised. She knows that's how things go in Hindi film industry.

"In Bollywood, the heroines are never signed for sequels. It's a tradition. Just check the sequels. The guys get repeated. The girls don't. It's a man's world. I don't feel like a second citizen for that. When 'Raaz 2' was made everyone kept asking why I wasn't in it. But I never worried about that. No point in crying about it," Bipasha is quoted as saying by a news agency.


The actress added that she's not upset over being left out of Race 2 , because even the director duo Abbas-Mastan are rumoured to be doubtful of directing the flick.

"I heard even Abbas-Mustan are not doing Race 2. If the original directors are not doing the sequel, who am I? I haven't been approached for 'Race 2'. That's fine," Bipasha said.

Though Bipasha is doing a series of serious films like Lamha and Pankh , she's excited about working in Rohit Shetty's out-and-out comedy All The Best .

"This is the one film I'll enjoy doing...It's a fun film and I don't have to always do roles that reflect my personality. Sometimes it's fun to do a fun film," the actress exuberated.

Bipasha signed off by saying that she's at a stage of her career where she doesn't have to compete with anyone and simply enjoy the work she's doing.
