Technology seems to have done wonders for the music directors Nadeem-Shravan. Sitting in separate continents the music duo is reunited, thanks to Internet.

Nadeem—who faces possible extradition for allegedly masterminding the murder of music baron Gulshan Kumar – sits half way across the globe in London, and works on film tunes after having heard the situations narrated by the producers and director. These tunes are then sent via Internet to Shravan who, after necessary adjustments, does the final recording in Mumbai with the singers and orchestra.

The question, however, arises: Will the duo, having spent 3 years in hibernation, be able to relive unto their past glory and get the success they got in a spectacular streak from Aashiqui (1990) to Pardes (1997)?

Well, judging from their latest musical score Dhadkan, one can say that melody still remains at the core of their music. However, we must not forget that the melodious music of the mid 90s (during which Nadeem-Shravan had a bull’s run) has now given way to the funky rhythms.

The duo has stated that this time their music “will be completely different from before.” Now, how far will they succeed in incorporating the new trends in their somewhat-quaint musical style, and thereby deliver the funk and the rhythm, remains to be seen.
