A R Rahman will compose the tunes for director Shekhar Kapoor’s next film Paani, which is set in futuristic Mumbai 20 years from now.
After collaborating with the ‘Elizabeth’ director for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical play ‘Bombay Dreams’, Rahman will tie up with Kapoor for his next movie. The film is based on the script written by Andrew Niccol, who wrote Peter Weir's Jim Carrey-starrer, ‘The Truman Show’.
The film titled Paani will most likely have the actors from Bollywood and Hollywood.
Meanwhile, Webber too has expressed his wish to sign Rahman again for his next play, presumably an opera.
It may be mentioned that the musical wizard is currently the talk-of-the-town with his score for debutante director Shaad Ali's film Saathiya.
