Before her film career began, Amrita was deeply into Indian classical music. In fact, she claims to have trained in classical music for a couple of years. However, when she stepped in Bollywood, her passion for music took a back seat. 
Speaking about her taste in music, Amrita says she was never fond of western pop music or rock bands. She has always been a lover of Hindi film music and believes that even if some composers lift tunes from western pop, they only enhance the original compositions. Any plans for cutting a music album of her own? “Not right now,” says Amrita. But she adds she would love to sing a few of her own songs in films if given a chance. For the time being, Amrita is basking in the success of her latest movie Vivah . She is nowadays working in director E. Niwas’s movie ‘My Name is Anthony Gonsalves’ in which she plays a Catholic girl working in film industry. Amrita has also signed David Dhawan’s next movie Hook Ya Crook .
