It can be called music sans frontiers. Yes, the contemporary Indian music is fast catching the fancy of the west.
It’s not just the classical Indian musicians – the maestros, pandits and ustads – who hold sway over the west. The popular Bollywood and Hindi pop is reaching the western shores and making an impact.
Bollywood actress and veejay Sophie Choudhary is all set to tag up with Will.I.Am of ‘Black Eyed Peas’ whom she met in London and had a casual chat about the musician’s next album in which Sophie is most likely to sing.
On the other hand, Bollywood’s acclaimed singer Asha Bhosle will be singing for a Hollywood film. Asha, who has in the past collaborated with western artists like Boy George, Robbie Williams, Nelly Furtado and Black Eyed Peas, will reportedly sing a song titled “Rang De” for an upcoming Hollywood film.
Speaking of Hollywood, Indian music composer Aadesh Shrivastava is teaming up with rapper Wyclef Jean and working on two Hollywood projects. Aadesh has already made Abhishek Bachchan (remember his ‘Right Here Right Now’) rap with Jean.
And if anything was left, actress Neha Dhupia is shaking her leg in a music video by Rhythm and Blues artist Ginuwine.
