Golmaal: Fun Unlimited Preview
|Comedy is not the genre one would associate Ajay Devgan with. But the actor seems intent to prove his detractors wrong in director Rohit Shetty's film 'Golmaal'.|
Besides Devgan, the film stars Arshad Warsi , Tusshar Kapoor , Sharman Joshi , Paresh Rawal and Rimi Sen .
The film is the story of four youths whose only pastime is notoriety and playing pranks on others and partying with girls.
Ajay Devgan plays Gopal, the bravest and the 'wisest' of the four friends. He is a man who believes that life is meant to be enjoyed and not wasted in work. He indulges in the basic pleasures of life - eating, drinking, partying and fooling others.
Arshad Warsi plays Mahadev aka Madho, the wittiest of the four friends. He thoroughly endorses Gopal's philosophy of life. And he has a pun for every moment.
Tusshar Kapoor plays Lucky. Although Lucky doesn't have as much confidence as Gopal and Madho, he does manage to play pranks on others without as much a prick of conscience.
Sharman Joshi plays Laxmi, the soberest and the sincerest of the four friends. He is a medical student who, above anything, fears God. His aim in life is different from that of the three others.
Gopal, Madho, Lucky and Laxmi study in the same college. But the dean of their college throws them out of the hostel because of their continuous notoriety. With nowhere to go, the friends look to Gopal, the wise one, for some way out.
An idea does pop into Gopal's scheming head. He tells them about a bungalow which is inhabited by an old blind couple. The couple's son, daughter-in-law and grandson live in America. Paresh Rawal plays the blind Dada ji, while Sushmita Mukherjee plays Dadi ji.
Gopal's idea is to live in the bungalow with the blind couple while pretending to be their grandson, Prashant. But the problem is that the three others - Madho, Lucky and Laxmi - would have to stay absolutely quiet and silent if they also want to stay in the bungalow.
Can Gopal's three chatterbox friends stay tongue-tied? Inside the bungalow, one hilarious sequence after another follows. There is confusion, commotion and chaos.
The plot also has other characters like a house servant (played by Vrajesh Hirjee), a garage owner (Mukesh Tiwari) and an underworld don (Sanjay Mishra).
'Golmaal' has been shot in Goa, Pune, Bangkok and Mauritius. The film is produced under the banner of Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision Pvt Ltd and K Sera Sera.
'Golmaal' will release on July 14.

|Movie Review : A well-rounded entertainer (0.5/5)|
Rohit Shetty's movie 'Golmaal' lives up to its punchline - Fun Unlimited.Despite the absence of a concrete plot, the movie entertains because the gags and pranks keep flowing in quick succession. There is hardly any sequence in the film that doesn't evoke a chuckle, if not make you laugh. An...
