Titillation and skin show is offered in the garb of a romantic story set against the backdrop of communal riots in the movie 'Time Pass'.
The title speaks for the movie itself. The 'love' and 'communal tension' is just an excuse. The real motive behind this charade is to attract those viewers who seek some titillation through bikini babes.
And actress Mona Chopra indeed catches eye with her cleavage flaunting and her sensuous body language while dressed in nothing more than bare essentials. In some portions of the movie, very little is left to imagination.
The movie's story is nothing much to write about.
Vishal (Arjun Punj) is a college student who has a crush on Jenny (Mona Chopra) who is his family friend. Jenny has the beauty and sex appeal that makes her hard to resist for anybody. Vishal is filled with passion for Jenny and wants her badly, but he does not know how to break the ice.
Vishal's friends come up with an unusual plan. According to the plan, Vishal would take Jenny out in the middle of a communal tension. The two would be stranded together and Vishal would have ample opportunities to make love to her.
Vishal puts plan into practice. But many unexpected twists in circumstances change the entire scene.
There is no singular direction in the story of 'Time Pass'. The story is told in just one night. It starts off like a lighthearted romantic movie, and then it turns into a lust movie with ample skin show by Mona and her intimate scenes with Arjun. And in the latter half, the movie changes gears and becomes a Hindu-Muslim riot story.
The chemistry between the two lead players of the movie is only restricted to passion-play. Hardly a single spark of love is visible in their chemistry. Mona Chopra exudes incredible sex appeal. She is brilliant at showing her body and her assets. But actingwise, she is quite ignorant.
Arjun Punj wears a somewhat perplexed look on his face throughout the film. Many times it seems that he tries to imitate Shah Rukh Khan. And in doing so, he only makes a mockery of himself.
'Time Pass' director Chander Mishra seems to be living in a separate time and world. He could have infused his story with interesting romantic moments set against the riots. But no, why care for love when the babe on the screen is willing to shed her clothes.
Eventually, 'Time Pass' ends up as a poorly made skin flick.
