Dr. Jhilmil Rao works in a Pune Hospital, and lives in a flat with her writer husband, Virag her sister, Radhika; and son, Rohan. The family decides to re-locate to Saswade about 12 km from Pune in a spacious bungalow. Virag finds the necessary solitude to carry on with his writing, Radhika and Jhilmil take the car for college and work respectively, while Rohan is delighted that he has ample place to play. He soon befriends two other children Manish and Jyoti and informs his parents accordingly. Since there is no neighbor anywhere within sight, they think that he has an active imagination like his dad. They decide to hire a maid, Rukma, to look after him. Subsequently, Rohan complains that Rukma had tried to kill him by trying to push him under a truck, but Rukma denies this. Rohan also accuses Rukma of stealing property from their house, which Rukma vehemently denies. The next day the Police Inspector Bhupal Gorpade, informs the Raos that Rukma has been killed by a hit and run driver. The shocked Raos are also told that property belonging to them has been recovered from Rukma, and according to his investigation, a truck driver did confirm that Rukma had attempted to kill Rohan. The question remains, if Rohan is not making up tall tales, who are Manish and Jyoti, and why can't anyone else see them?
Vaastu Shastra Preview
Life of a happily married couple is thrown into turbulence after they move into their new house. The spooky happenings inside the house escape the couple's notice at first, but their four-year-old son senses the ghostly presence.
Starring Sushmita Sen, Chakravarthy and child artist Ahsaas Chana, Vaastu Shastra is a Ram Gopal Varma co-production. The movie is directed by Sourabh Usha Narang.
The film has Sush playing Jhilmil, a general physician in a reputed hospital in Pune. She is married to Virag (Chakravarthy), who is a writer by profession. Together, the two with their four-year-old son Rohan (Ahsaas) make an ideal and happy family.
But then the family moves into a new house, Shanti Kutir, a palatial bungalow located on the outskirts of Pune. The place is ideal for Virag who is working on his new writing assignment. Little Rohan too finds the place ideal for enjoying his summer vacations.
A curious Rohan begins to explore the place and comes across mysterious happenings inside the house. When he speaks about these spooky elements to his parents, they think he is lying. But then something terrible happens and Jhilmil and Virag decide to take police's help. Police thinks that it is perhaps the act of some psychopath.
Jhilmil and Virag know they would now have to deal with the 'unknown' in their house by themselves only.
